very good product for publics area ,but in working in industrial or in commercial building when you wear hard hat or welding helmet its constant whistel ..other then that its a great hearing aid for communicate with your love ones.....not once i have said huh huh huh lol ...oh one more thing you must adjust the hearing aid the way you want to hear in public,house and your work area, took me three dys to get it right....

Works good where theres not competing noise. Best for watching tv or one on one conversation in a quiet area. have trouble keeping them behind my ears! The only setting that woks is no.2(1&crowded area setting are just like turning them off, and3-4 setting shrill and screeches. 2 setting is too loud, but I hope I get used to it.

I've had my Joy P BTE hearing aid for just short of a month. I have been in every place with various background noises and am very pleased with the hearing aid, although at times I've wished for a little more volume without getting feedback. The telecoil selection is almost worthless (can hardly hear the person), if you are really hard of hearing in that ear. I find I can use number 1 selection and hear fine without any feedback. I opted for the ear mold fitting which is for me a 100% better and far more comfortable. For the money, you can't beat Lloyds hearing aids...

Erika at Lloyd's recommended the Lloyd's Joy Slim. I'm here to tell you my "bad ear" is now my good ear! It really helps me hear my wife's voice when we are in the car, and boosts my hearing nicely at church. We are going to a play this evening, and I'm not sure I'd even have ventured that without the Joy Slim. This one has 3 different hearing modes, and they all work as advertised - the directional microphone is especially nice.
Even though I have a shot haircut almost nobody has noticed the hearing aid. The open fit permits me to hear natural sounds as well as enhanced sound. Finally, I especially like that no electronics are inside the ear canal and believe this feature may give this nifty little device a somewhat longer life.
While I was talking with Lloyd's, I learned later that my sister in law was buying two hearing aids from a company in her home town that look nearly identical to the Joy Slim...at least they are BTE and the functions are very similar. But she sadly told me she paid many times what I did. The folks at Lloyd's were very easy to work with...I'm highly pleased. Roy D., Cumming, GA.

I have been using this one for a week--and it has really helped me. Here''s my situation: I''m 72, I am an art teacher, and am married. Hearing is important to me. I am deaf in one ear; the other has "moderate" loss. The Joy Slim seems to help me quite a bit. I was worried it would annoy me; however, the open fit style works for me; I hardly notice its presence. Andy at LLoyds has been professional and friendly. The 45 day return puts my mind at ease. I was wary of places that might try to sell me too much. The price of the Slim saved me about 600 hundred dollars and seems to be just what I need. Not too much; not too little. I also bought the remote which is very handy. At the moment the led display isn''t working; however the remote itself works. Illl have to get a replacement unit.

I am very happy with my pair of Joy Slim-V hearing aids! I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to get accustomed to using them. They are comfortable; and easy to adjust volume and to change programs. I wear my hair short (cut half-way down my ear), and they are barely noticeable unless one is looking for them. It is very nice to hear so well--and not to be saying "pardon me?" so frequently! And the volume on the TV is not nearly as loud!

I can hear again, whew!! What a relief, both for my wife & myself. My purchase was for a set of Joy V slim open fit BTE. Although, I am still getting familiar with the settings, I had no problem with the fitting. No pain or adjustment like I've had with CIC aids from another source.
Before purchasing the JoyV slim's, I priced a similar set (same features) at a nearby hearing center. This name brand was priced at almost $4900 compared to the $1750 at Lloyd's. The only advantage I could see was the hearing test itself & possible easier servicing if needed. Can't say about reliability yet, but so far everything is great.

Joy Slim-V. I've used this one for nearly a year and have no complaints. I'm not much for wearing jewelry, rings and never thought I could tolerate a hearing aid. But the open fit is comfortable enough. Price-wise, the Joy probably gives you 90 percent of what's available from the more expensive ones. The build quality after a year seems good to me. I have been using my Joy Slim for about a week. Here's my situation. I am 72. I am married; I am an art teacher in a high school. So I need to hear people. Unfortunately I am stone deaf in one ear. My other ear has "moderate" loss.
I was very wary of people trying to "sell" me more than I needed, or of being unable to return a device.
An older male friend of mine, told me about LLoyds--saying the service was cooperative, helpful, and professional. So I tried. I opted for the economy hearing aid--the house brand, so to speak. I am totally happy with it.
It seems to be just right for me--no more than I need, nor less. I am very fussy about wearing things--even jewelry--but the open fit is so minimal that I forget it's in my ear. In fact, my biggest fear is that it might fall out, unknowingly. I made this choice after reading all the advertising from more expensive aids; they all seem to promise the world. I was willing to settle for a 60 or 80 percent improvement. I certainly have it with the open fit Joy. I also bought the remote, which I wanted because I could not fiddle with the tiny buttons on the aid. At the moment the led display is not working, but the remote is working and it's quick to change around with the three programs. So for the moment, I am very pleased--and I saved myself six or eight hundred dollars!

All the instruction manuels were easy to use, and the hearing aids were easy to set up and adjust, with the remote. As instructed I wear them the entire day to get use to wearing them and although I have only had them for a few days I think that I have already adjusted. First hearing aids for me. Nothing to compare to but they seem to be fine. I can hear birds now!!! I wear glasses and the behind the ear style is fine, no problems. Still playing with the controls to dial them in but it's getting better. My wife really likes the blutooth TV thingy. Nice to be able to hear the news without telling the kids to be quiet. The open ear design is nice, doesn't block out low end or other sounds. They do take a little bit to get used to but I'm liking them. Great on the phone too. I don't hear myself repeating over and over again, "what?" The remote is pretty easy to use and figure out. Battery dies really quick on the blutooth mode though, whether it's on the phone or TV. I don't use the phone blutooth, seems to be a delay and the other person can't hear me very well. All in all I'm pretty pleased with them.

i recently purchased the siemens life 501 bte hearing instruments. this is the first time for me wearing a hearing instrument and lloyds did a great job answering all my questions and helping me to select the right instrument for me. plus i saved a tremendous amount of money compared to a local provider. the instruments worked right out of the box and now i am hearing sounds i haven't heard for some time, birds sound amazing and conversations are much easier to follow and understand. so i highly recommend lloyds!

I'm 32 and have hearing loss in my right year. I was very self concious about wearing a hearing aid my age. After getting tired of asking people to repeat themselves and to speak louder, I finally needed to do something about it. This small barely noticeable hearing aid had changed my life. I'm much happier now and can understand everybody much better, and can have the TV on a normal volume. Lloyd's was fast and great and listened well. I've seen another auidologist, and I just didn't like the products they sold and was feeling forced into getting a behind the ear model I didn't want. I recommend Lloyds and the Siemens Nitro 16.

I use the Lloyd mini-canal iHear aid for both ears now. My first mini-canal was a right ear only as I needed to learn if this aid would work for me. Following a couple of weeks of using a few times per day, I began to adapt to the foreign object in my ear and the comfort and tolerance level increased.
One day I left the aid in my pants pocket and it went into the wash. I was sure the aid would be useless now. However, following a 24 hour drying at room temperature the aid performed as it did prior to being washed. Sadly, after enduring the baptism, I lost the aid in an airport.
I have the aids now and they serve me well.
When I call Lloyd's I get a real person right away and enjoy their friendly tone and helpful procedures.

This was my first HA and although it is not the type recommended to me by audiologist I wanted to try an inexpensive device. I have a mild ski slope hearing loss in upper frequencies. These have a hard shell so Comfy strips are a real must to keep these in place in your ear if you do not select a custom ear mold. As a basic instrument, they will amplify your surrounding sounds. I wore there for a little more than a week and adjusted the High Frequency trim pot (potentiometer) only a small amount from the average setting. Loud sharp noises are also amplified and were difficult to withstand! I suffered from occlusion and did not like the sensation this caused. I felt that this basic analog instrument was not complex enough for my needs, although they may be OK for someone in a more sedimentary home atmosphere lifestyle and very limited monetary means. These were a good trial for me and I appreciate Lloyds providing the opportunity to supply me with a solution to my hearing loss.

I have never worn a hearing aid and had no idea which one to choose. I took advantage of the free 45 day trial offer. I choose to start with an in the canal inexpensive aid. It arrived promptly and had easy to follow directions. I inserted the battery, turned on the unit and inserted it into my ear. It worked properly but did not fit in the ear canal without discomfort. I choose to returned the aid and the representative I called was very helpful. Thanks to the free trial I can now try another style.

I have been wearing Lloyd's aids for several years now. I use the all in the canal aid. The first aids I ever got like these I got from a public hearing aid company because I didn't know about Lloyd's. They were the exact thing I wear now from Lloyd's, with the difference being those cost $1500.00 EACH and it took me three years to pay them off!! When they died, I had seen an ad for Lloyd's somewhere and inquired with them and got an aid for each ear-----------for thousands of dollars less!! I have been wearing my all in the canal aids from Lloyd's several years now. I love them!! I reccommend Lloyd's to my friends as well. My experience with the low priced aid from Lloyds has been reasonably satisfactory. I have no experience with other types. I note, however, that I know of no one among my friends who has been entirely happy with their aids, regardless of cost. All aids require getting used to, keeping clean, keeping ears clean, batteries dying at inconvenient moments, problems in noisy environments, and insensitive questions form "helpful" friends wanting to know how you like your aids. I am glad I bought this hearing aid. It works great for meetings and when I'm watching TV (which I don't do much - 250 channels and nothing on). It is the first one for me; what an improvement! After reading the instructions, I adjusted the "tone" and "volume". I can hear excellent now and get very little ( and I mean VERY LITTLE) feedback; almost none. Great price and a good buy for me.

The product works very well with only two small snags; the unit slips out of my ear canal (which isn't straight to begin with) and the color does not match flesh tone. But I got it to hear with and I really don't care if people know I cannot hear well. The annoying thing is the movement out of my ear which I correct (since I know it happens). I haven't thought about taking advantage of the fitting that is available but I might in the future. The instrument does what I expected.

This is a good hearing aid; as good as the one I paid much more for.
However, It took a while to get used to how to insert it nto the canal and not get feedback, but once I mastered that, it was fine.
The only negative I woud say is it seems to eat batteries. In my others, the battery lasted 3-4 weeks. With this, I only get a week. Also, I find the adjustment wheel difficult to adjust.

I have used the I hear for about 8 months. I like it when it is working well. I had it put into a custom shell. It is very comfortable. I returned it once for service as it was loosing volume strength. It came back some better. I am in my mid 30's and have otosclerosis, I’ve had corrective surgery in both ears, which still leaves me with moderately severe hearing loss.
The feedback is bad especially in enclosed areas such as elevators, offices & cars; it tends to distort sounds somewhat. Because it is not a custom fit it also requires that you get the aid placed in just the right spot, or it will give you feedback as well. The lack of a filter to reduce background noise can be a little overwhelming at times (every little sound is amplified) so noisy restaurants or other areas can be a little much, as with my previous set of custom hearing aids it takes several days to get used to the changes and made me nauseous for a couple of days.
I like the small size of the aid. Overall the hearing aid I purchased is cost effective and will work for me as a temporary fix and later as a back up.

The term Half-Shell Hearing Aid refers to the size of this hearing aid. A Half-Shell Hearing Aid Hearing Aid aid is considered "medium" in comparison to other In-The-Ear types of hearing aids. It's not as large as the Full-Shell aid that fills up the entire bowl of the ear, nor is it as small as a Canal Aid that fits just at the opening of the ear canal. The faceplace is generally about the size of a nickel, although this will depend upon the individual's ear size and what "extras" may be installed into the aid. The standard Half-Shell Hearing Aid is an analog instrument and is built to match the user's hearing loss. We like to have audiograms (hearing loss charts) if possible. It is very helpful but not absolutely necessary. The more complete of a description of a person's hearing loss, the better able we are to meet the need. I recently ordered Digital Ihear mini canal aids for both ears. Several problems occured. In order to hear I had to turn the aids up to a degree that produced a constant "squeal" from the aids and also the aids did not fit into the ear canal. I actually lost one the first day I had them in. I was pulling my boat from the water for the winter( Admittedly, should not have had the aids in at this time) aand as I turned, the aid fell from my left ear into the water. I do wonder if I was sent the right aids as I paid for the digital aids, which I would have thought would adjust to correct settings without volume control. It sounds is if I may have been sent the Analog aids and not the Digital. NOTE FROM LLOYDS: You did receive the digital models. The analog and digital ones look almost the same, but the serial numbers differentiate them as well as the tone control trimpot which is only on the analog aid.
I did not purchase the insurance for loss or damage and I would highly reccomend this if a purchase is to be made. I would reccomend the product, but have molds made of your ears. Not all ear canal's are the same. I took a chance and lost, but if I were to order again from Lloyds I would go with the half shell and have a mold made of ear.

I decides to try mini canal hearing, I was told I need aids in both hears at the time I could only afford one. The price was reason, it 1/3 was I paid for my other one three years prior. I has good sound, I like that I can adjust the volume myself. I am so pleased with it I am replacing the first one I brought. Excellent product. The only issue I had is with the website you can't edit your cart, it clear all or nothing. Everything else was great the product and shipping, I am in Iraq and had the product with week and half and going through the APO that fast.

I bought 2 of the cic hearing aids. I went back to my local office 3 times to see why there was noise coming from the aids. They said that was normal. I finally complained enough that they sent one back to the factory to fix. I got it back 2 weeks later still sounding the same. That has happened 3 times and now I asked for my money back. Plus, I spent $3,498.00 for two CIC aids. How can you sell yours without getting the aid molded to the ear? Anyway, I am not happy with this product.
Some people just need extra help in hearing for specific situations like watching TV, riding in the car, or just around the house. Mine arrived by mail this morning and it works just great. I hav 2 BTE aids, the newer was 1700.00 Canadian, bought just 3 months ago from a continent wide franchise and manufacturer. This cost about 250.00 US with the extra receiver.
The body mount is superior in every way to the BTE aids and works out to about 15% of the cost.
There is no background noise at all and the mushroom ear things are, to me, far more comfortable than than the plastic things that go into the the ear. The only disadvantage is that everyone thinks I am wearing a walkman. Lots of people do that by choice so that doesn't bother me. Anyway pretty doesn't cut it with me, results do. This aid give darned good results. I am glad I bought it.

I have had several highend aids, so I really didn't expect a whole lot from this device. I was pleasantly surprised to find the HA20-DX to be a very effective aid with great audio quality and battery life. My biggest problem was where to put it. I started with the shirt pocket, Too much rubbing noise and my breathing, the same thing happened when I clipped it to my shirt collar, then my belt, to far away, cords not long enough. Then I came upon the answer, I clipped it to the bill on my baseball cap, cut a small slit in the cap, ran the wires inside the cap, and oh my God, Beautiful.....Every where I looked I could hear, gone was the rubbing and wire noise, my biggest problems were solved. For the money this really is an excellent unit easily adjustable to what you like to hear. It is far better than going without! When you need to hear, it works!

I have been wearing in the ear and behind the ear hearing aids for at least 30 years. They all helped at different levels of hearing loss. The last bte set was over $3000.00 and worked very well at first but slowly became less effective. Living in the far northeast, moisture is a problem and performing outdoor activities sometime caused the aids to get wet and quit. Then I had to go through the drying process or sometimes a trip to the audiologist to get a complete drying. The ear molds get hard after a time and the tubes get stiff and both have to be replaced. Not a do it a home project. I mentioned body aids a time or two but got no response. This last time just one aid quit and with my loss one aid is worse than none. So off to the WEB and I found two different body aids. Did some more research and decided to try what I found at Lloyds site. Without consulting anyone I ordered one of the body aids and waited. A few days later I the phone rang and it was a rep fromLloyds (sorry I don't remember your name, hearing loss) and the young lady ask me some questions regarding my hearing loss, then suggested that I try the less powerful body aid. And let me tell you I could not be more pleased with the new body aid. When my wife and I travel in the car we can cary on a converstaion with no what did you say??? I recently attented a town budget meeting and committee members noticed very quickly that I could hear and respond to questions much more correctly than before. Other public meetings have gone much better than before. No the aids don't fix my hearing but they allow me to participate much more than I have for quite a long time. I have rambled on long enough, after just 11 days I say sorry I didn't look sooner.

An economical device. It may look old fashioned but improved my hearing from the as seen on TV models that cost more for the short lived batteries than those cheap in ear models. One double "A" battery last close to a week or more. Where people used to yell at me with those cheap models I now can hear people talking in a normal tone from roughly twenty feet away. Lost without it as I am also Blind making the controls easy to use. Service is great! These people really know their product.

My hearing was damaged by an infection when I was an infant, so I've worn hearing aids all my life. I started out with a big box strapped to my chest, but they were able to put my aids in my glasses when I started to wear them. I got digital aids when they became available, which did help in classes and meetings. I would not be able to function without hearing aids, so I got this body aid as a backup to my behind-the-ear aids, which were very expensive. But in trying them out, I was so impressed with how wonderful it was to hear ALL the sounds, not just those selected by my aids!I get a real high from just walking outside and hearing the bird calls and the leaves rustling. It reminds me of my childhood. My girlfriend often asks to bowrrow my body aid, and she has the same experience in comparing what she hears with what comes through her fancy hearing system. There are so many advantages to using this aid, such as being able to point the microphone, which you can't do with other types, of course. I've had this body aid for over a year now, and I wear it from the moment I get up in the morning until I go to bed at night. My girlfiend is ordering one for herself as well.

The Fusion PP Body Aid is one of the strongest hearing aids Lloyds offers. With 80dB of gain, this analog aid can be fitted to someone with a profound degree of hearing loss. When a user needs this much volume, many of the super high-powered Behind-The-Ear aids will cause feedback, or squealing, when turned up. This results in the user having to turn the volume down from its maximum level in order to be able to wear the BTE hearing aid. Body Aids are a solution to this aggravating problem. The "box" part of the aid is worn in a shirt pocket and has a cord leading up to the ear. There is a part called the Receiver ("speaker") that's at the other end of that cord and that's what is worn in the ear along with a custom earmold. She kept getting denied by Medicaid for new ones for reasons that the hearing aid doctor did not know how to complete the paperwork correctly. In desperation I looked for cheap methods to help my mother hear. She is profoundly deaf. We found the Rexton Fusion PP. From the moment I put them in her ears she could hear and she was amazed at what she was missing all these years. A nurse at her nursing home wanted the website as she wants to get a hearing aid for her father.

I have been wearing BTE aids for years (since 1981) was time to get new aid in a couple months & decided to try the Body Aid. I recently purchased a Rexton Arena 1HP+. I have been wearing it continually since it was delivered. As was claimed, it is a powerful aid and I find that it is perfectly suited to my severe to pround hearing loss.
I highly recommend Lloyds as a dependle source for hearing aids.

Excellent aid and help from Lloyd's..This is my second aid from Lloyds. My first aid purchased from them over ten years ago worked well till it was accidentally destroyed. This new one a BTE model is one of the cheapest from the catalog, yet still has more than enough gain than I need yet has clear as a bell sound even at full volume. A simple digital model, this Rexton still performs great! At home alone merely watching tv or in a crowded noisy diner or public place. Even in a noisy public room I can still clearly hear and understand all persons conversation seated within normal hearing range. Likewise walking around and while driving..While driving can enjoy radio and still hear engine and traffic clearly..Even music in all situations above at any volume is distortion free and hifi..In short such clear detailed noise free sound always makes me wonder that spending over twice as much for a fancy digital model would surely be a simple waste of money, as this model is so great already how much better could a fancy digital model be? My frist aid a half shell custom analog model from Lloyds I did manage to break once breaking the shell my fault and sending it in I received prompt turn around after warranty for the standard charge.. To conclude I suggest see if you can get an upto date audiogram from your doctor to send in to a Lloyds sales person so they can find the right model for you...Take my word for it, the right aid they will send you will save you at least FIFTY PERCENT OR MORE with equal or better performance from going to any major brand store and being fitted there.. Combined with great customer service including resasonable fast repairs you just can't beat Lloyds! Really with Lloyds free trial period for any aid your crazy not to buy a aid from them instead of letting yourself fall prey to all those major brand hearing aid shops in your town.. As a satisfied customer for over ten years I am glad to continue to stay with them..

I have recently (Sept 2010) purchased the Rexton Arena 1 HP Hearing Aid from Lloyd via the Internet and received the Aid 6 days after ordering. I live in Hamilton, Canada and am very pleased with the prompt shipment.
The Hearing Aid came with everything needed for immediate use, all nicely packaged, with operating instructions and an easy to understand adjustment sheet that was very handy for me. Out of the box the hearing aid was set to very high power and a little to strong for my hearing disability but after some adjustments, turning down the overall volume, adding more low (bass) tone and reducing the Gain a little it worked wonderful for me. Compared to the Oticon Tego Aids that I had purchased 4 years ago from a local dispenser at 4 times the price (each) I can say that this Rexton Arena Aid is every bit as good and, in my opinion, better than the Oticon Aids. I would recommend Lloyd without any hesitation. Count me as a satisfied client.

The hearing aids are great. They stay real clean. I have not had to clean them since I got them. The plastic case the hearing aid parts are encased in is not smooth, there is a slight texture to them. That helps significantly with the aids staying clean.
The power is enough for anyone with moderate to severe hearing loss. They supposedly will work for someone with profound hearing loss, but the power does not seem intense enough for someone with profound hearing loss. Nevertheless, they are pretty powerful.
I do not get any feedback unless I move my jaw. That is reduced though by turning the volume down. Turning the volume down helps a lot with the feedback. They are not hard to turn down either, but do take some getting used too as there is no wheel. The volume can be decreased or increase by pressing the slider at the top or bottom.
Tcoil is good, but could be better. If Tcoil was better they I would have given 5 stars rather than 4. I get buzz when I do not have anything connected, like a neck loop, when I am in Tcoil mode. That is very, very annoying.
The batteries do not drain fast. I have been using the aids for 1 week straight and the batteries are not even 1/4th drained. The aids use the bigger 675 blue batteries. The batteries can be hard to get in and out of the compartment which can be frustrating, but its a good thing too. That means they are fitting more snug. They do seem to fit real snug during use and when inserting.
Opening the battery door can be difficult. it only opens 1/8th of the way. I had to use a straight blade screwdriver, like the kind you use for your eye glasses, to push the door forward. it did pop open though. If not careful and gentle the aid could be damaged while doing this. I seen nothing inside that could be damaged though. ****Note from Lloyds: Do not use any blades to open the battery door. The 1/8th inch stopping point is an intentional feature to keep the battery door from opening too far and the battery falling out when the BTE is not in use. When it's open 1/8th of an inch, just use your finger to apply more pressure and it will swing open the rest of the way.****
The aids do not seem heavy. They are fairly lightweight. They are bigger than most hearing aids not using a 675 blue battery, so if you got really small ear lobes you may want to find a smaller hearing aid. They do seem to fit fine around my ears though and my ears are average size.
